About Christianity

Christianity
Like in Islam, Christianity has prophets, one of those being Muhammad (as in Islam) but most important in the Christianity is the Prophet Jesus. Jesus was a child of Virgin Mary (Originally Maria) and God himself.

Jesus was born in a stable in Bethlehem, Israel. Bethlehem is located approximately 8 km South from Jerusalem. Joseph and a pregnant Mary had to travel those kilometers on a donkey. Because the king of Judea (at the time Herod the Great) wanted to count all people in his kingdom so they would not do tax fraud. Every house was fully booked by the time the couple got to Bethlehem, so they had to sleep in a stable. In this is where baby Jesus was born.

Bethlehem has a Mediterranean climate, so they have warm and dry summers, and cold winters.

In the 1600 century 60% of the population in Bethlehem was Christians, but this number has been variating a lot, and some years the city had more Muslims than Christians.

Christianity has spread to all around the world, and it is now the biggest (The religion with most followers) religion in the world.

There are all sorts of Christianity, two of the big ones are: The Roman Catholics, and the Protestants. Ireland is a good example of the collision between those two sorts of Christianity. In Northern Ireland the main part of the population are Protestants, and in the Republic of Ireland the main part are Catholics. There have been quite a few collisions between those two in Ireland. And it makes you wonder, without religions, would we have as many wars as we have today? Or would there maybe be more because we wouldn’t have a “guide-book” on have to behave?

Anyway,

In total Christianity represents 33.4% of the world’s religion and that makes it the biggest religion in the world.
